Look for the situation that is causing the stress, when you understand the situation, you will understand why your partner is reacting the way he/she is.

Always try to sort things out in person. Avoid texting. There is no tone to go off or body language to see in a text argument. You might take something the wrong way!


Share and care

Offering support can help reduce your partner’s stress. Lend helping hand, a shoulder to lean-on or a listening ear. Find small ways to show affection and compassion.


Don’t let anger or defensiveness get the better of you

This just short-circuits your emotions and can add to the stress.

Use collaborative decision making for a win-win solution to the problem.
